I often have friends send me images of the furniture they find on the side of the road. Not all are worth the effort... but when I got the call about this coffee table waiting for the trash truck, I knew it was a keeper. I couldn't pass on the real wood top and shelf.

The table was riddled with spider nests and layers of grime. After disassembling and a thorough cleaning, it sat in my basement for months. Needing a break from my commissions, I pulled it out and starting sanding it down. In a fit of creativity, I envisioned a base and quickly figured out how to build it with scraps I had lying around.

This designer dupe turned out exactly like I pictured it! It's finished with Lilly Moon Paint's glaze in Natural Cork and a satin top coat.
